Stencil Artist

Enlightened Souls: Light Painting by Fabrice Wittner

“Enlightened Souls is a light painting project I started in May 2011 in Christchurch, New Zealand. I first thought of it as an artistic and morale contribution to the 6.3 quake’s aftermath. I used stencils to paint enlightened characters to remember human losses and to show the spirit of a wounded city. It turned out to be an interesting way to share ideas and feelings about society and life.
By now, two series were made. The first one in Christchurch, NZ and the second one in Hanoi, Vietnam.” http://theinspirationgrid.com/enlightened-souls-light-painting-by-fabrice-wi
I think that this is an interesting project by Fabrice Wittner, a freelance photographer from France. Its interesting because her work represents other people, its like her work is giving respect to those who have suffered from this disaster, and I respect her for that.  The media she uses for this project is also interesting I'm not really sure what light painting is but it looks exotic and complicated. I think this ia a interesting way to use stencil.

light painting- A 'light painting' digital photograph is created by the movement of a light or lights, using a slow camera shutter speed, to create a image. Because this type of photography requires a long exposure (typically from one second to ten seconds), it is usually done at night or in an unlighted room.

Stencil Task.......................................................................................

This was a quick task we did in our work shops with Frances. My stencil has limited colors because, I was thinking that if I had more then 3 colors, the images that my stencil is meant to show will disappear somewhere in the layers of color from the spray paint and I didn't want that. My floral prints I cut out in a stencil is a influence from Flox work, I love her detailed stencil.

My detailed stenciled influenced by Flox but I added a Micky mouse stenciled image on top, I think of it as adding my own flavor.

An inventory of a bizarre skin growth, DYSTOPIA, seems to document a pathology. It seems clear that at some level this pathology is not only dermatological, but cultural, commenting, perhaps, on the gradual but waxing loss of identity and the means of communication in a technological environment that promotes anonymity and conformity”. —Adrian W.B. Responce to 3 Art work form power point

Cara Ober

The War Goes On, 2009

Cara work exploits a range of opposites. It combine unrelated images and test to form layers of (mis)understanding, reinterpreting sentimental imagery through layers of drawings, paintings, and print making. Her materials include paint on canvas, collage on paper , gold leaf, and a variety of drawing media. This work is one that she has put together randomly, the different images on this peace of work seems to relate because the media she's used, e.g how she has printed them in black and white on a stained peachy colored back ground, to my point of view this has brought the art work together, but each image it self are really different from each other and it does not make scene to me, This about Cara work has interest me, The title of her work also makes me wonder if all the images can relate to each other some way through war history. But over all I think that her work is interesting the way she put the random images together but still creates the thought in the viewer mind that the art work relates through a story.

Emma Mclellan,

Bouquet, Screenprint

Emma McLellan work evolves around hybrid of paintings and print making. This is one of her work i favored. I think that contrast is really bold, its interesting because it makes the image pop out of the paper. I like the way she used the different shades of the color blue in this peace it creates the illusion  of the plant growing out from the paper of the surface.

 Post Cards drawings

unknown artists
I find these post cards really cool. I think its interesting how they came to be. Its interesting and creative for the artist to use the post cards in such way. I like how they sketch statues on the post cards every where they've traveled its like each post card has capture the moment or a sight, and the artist having putting all the post cards together, to my perspective creates a good travel story, its shows the viewers what the artist fascinates about which are statues and this I found interesting.
